Vineyard Worker Job – Tarsitano Winery and Vineyards is Hiring a Farm / Vineyard Worker in Northeast Ohio – 2020

Love being with nature, working with plants and your hands rather than people? Come join our team in growing great grapes and making great wine.  We are looking for long term motivated honest independent people that work fast, pay attention to details, communicate and simply care.  

Work on the beautiful 100 acre farm among the peaceful rolling hills and The Conneaut Creek River in northeast Ohio. Tarsitano Winery has been growing grapes since 1998.  The farm is my great grandfathers dairy farm.  We no longer have cows, we’d rather squeeze grapes than cows.  We were certified organic for along time but switched to sustainable for the last several years.

The vineyard worker job is taking care of the vineyards from pruning, tucking, tying, suckering, leaf removing, hoeing, trellising, all the way thru harvest.  This job takes follow thru.  When you tuck one vine, then you do it to 17000 vines.   The good thing is that the job changes thru out the season.  You will get to know each vine, each block, each vineyard.  When you nurture the vines, you’ll see the payoff in the grapes at the end of the year.  either you love working with Mother Nature or you don’t.  Nature will find a way humble you,  but we get thru with perseverance and a kind heart. 

• Will train, the vines would rather have someone that does the job correctly.  
• Farming and tractor experience is a plus. 
• The pay-rate depends on level of experience and efficiency of the worker.  We recommend that you try it to see if it’s a fit.  
• This job is all the hours you can work from Late March thru October, you can make good money if you put in the hours. 
• This is an independent contractor job.  You will get a 1099 at the end of the year.
• Must have a smartphone, a valid drivers license and be a US citizen.
