Small Farmstead Goat Dairy Internship in Oregon – 2018
We operate a cert. organic goat dairy near the city of Portland in the Oregon Coast range. We sell our cheese at markets in the Portland Metro Area and it is available in grocery stores as well. We are looking for a full time intern that can work in both, the barn and milk parlor, and the dairy in processing the milk further. The internship will be fully paid at a rate of approximately $12.00 with a deduction for room and board ($550). This results in an approximate pay of $1514 monthly and full room and board. The work is a mixture of milking, feeding, fence moving and a lot of cleaning chores in the dairy.
Our farm is approximately 45 min west of Portland and we can offer transportation into Portland on weekends. We are passionate about teaching folks and encourage interns to use a time every week in a class room like setting with reading assignments and in depth study projects.
