Seasonal Farm Work and Apprenticeships in OR
Persephone Farm offers Seasonal Farm Work and Apprenticeships in Lebanon, Oregon – 2020
Persephone Farm is situated in Oregon’s Willamette Valley where the foothills begin to rise into the Cascade Mountains. The property encompasses 55 acres of river-bottom land bordered by the South Santiam River. Certified organic by Oregon Tilth since 1985, and certified Salmon-Safe, we grow over 40 vegetable crops for farmers markets, restaurants, and wholesale.
We are looking for dedicated and reliable workers who are willing to get their hands dirty while learning the skills necessary to grow, harvest, and market 10 acres of organic vegetables.
Apprentices are employees who live on the farm and are seeking a practical education in farming. All employees have the option of living off the farm and providing their own food and lodging. Those who live on the farm as apprentices will have a stronger educational experience, as they will have more opportunity to ask questions about the principles on which the farm operates. Generally, apprentices are responsible for assisting in the planting, cultivation, harvest, processing, delivery, and marketing of all produce grown on the farm. All workers are paid an hourly wage and get free produce.
We generally have one or two seasonal farm work positions that open each year beginning in April, May, or June and continuing through either November or December. In some years winter work is available. To apply for seasonal farm work or apprenticeships, please read the materials on the employment page of our website first for more information about our farm and the apprenticeship experience. If you find this information compelling, please print, complete, sign, and send the application by postal service. If you do not have access to a printer, let us know and we can send you a printed copy. Documents are in pdf format for easier downloading but you can copy and paste the application into a word or other document to complete it. Once we review your application, we will contact you regarding a farm visit.

Hello Jeff-? Elanour-sp? I worked with you in 1985-87 and moved to St. Louis years ago. I miss you,the Farm, the work, and the place to stay! I am very sorry about these fires, so I am checking up on you and to wish you well. I moved about 70 miles south of Lake Tahoe, Grass Valley in 2010 to live nears 2 sisters. I’ve been up to Lebanon 3x to see my daughter, Johanna since. She has a lovely 6 year old daughter. Please stay safe and I am not phone shy if you’d like to call. Farm looks gorgeous! 314/624-3976 p.s. I live near Paradise, CA and they might get hit again. Terribly reflective day, all day.
