Harvest Crew Position Description
Flying Coyote Farm is looking for two people to join our harvest crew part-time for the 2019 season. The Harvest Crew position will focus on all aspects of harvest and post-harvest handling of the over 50 vegetable crops grown on our farm. Harvest crew members will participate in all aspects of harvesting, washing and packing produce for our three outlets (CSA, restaurants, and farmers markets.) This position is part-time (16-20 hours per week) and runs April/May – November/October.
*Flying Coyote Farm does not offer housing or meals for this position. *
Harvest Crew Position Roles and Responsibilities
- Proper harvest and post-harvest handling of a large variety of vegetable crops
- Time management
- Record keeping
- Washing produce
- Communicating general crop health or other observations made while harvesting to Field Crew Manager
- Packing CSA boxes, market produce and restaurant orders
Schedule
Harvest Crew Position runs April/May – November/October (possibility of an earlier start date and later end date depending on weather and skill level and availability of applicant)
Workdays are Mondays and Thursdays 8:00 am-4:45 pm in the spring and 7:30 am-5:15 pm in the summer depending on daylight hours and seasonal workload. At times we may require crew members to work shorter or longer hours depending on weather and/or work load. There is an unpaid 45min lunch break each day.
Optional weekend Farmers Market work and possible Friday work available for interested applicants.
Harvest Crew Position Compensation
- $12/hr – Hourly rate based on experience, plus bonuses

- Two seasons prior vegetable farming experience
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation
- Demonstrated commitment to organic and sustainable farming
