Online Classes in Sustainable Food and Farming

While these are subject to change, U-Mass is currently planning to offer the following 36 online classes in sustainable food and farming over the next year.  These classes may be taken individually or as part of our online 15- credit Certificate Program.  They will also count toward our online Associate of Science degree and our NEW online B.S. degree.

NOTE:  all courses are 3 credits unless otherwise indicated.

Fall Semester

• STOCKSCH 280 – Herbs, Spices and Medicinal Plants (new GenEd-BS – 4 cr)
• STOCKSCH 290 M – Integrated Pest Management
• STOCKSCH 320 – Organic Vegetable Production
• STOCKSCH 497 D – Sustainable Site Design Studio (2 cr)

Winter Term

• STOCKSCH 100 – Botany for Gardeners (GenEd-BS – 4cr)
• STOCKSCH 117 – Agricultural Chemistry 
• STOCSKSCH 190 M – Intro to Mushroom Culture (1 cr)
• STOCKSCH 297 FL – Intro to Food and Agricultural Law
• STOCKSCH 354 – Non-profit Management for Community Food Programs
• STOCKSCH 379 – Agricultural Systems Thinking (satisfies IE requirement for B.S. degree)
• STOCKSCH 397 PB – Pollinator Biology and Habitat (1 cr)
