New Farmer Journeyperson Support Program from CT NOFA
CT NOFA Now Accepting Applications for the 2015 Journeyperson Program
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut (CT NOFA) will be accepting applications from qualified new farmers to participate in its two-year support program, known as the CT NOFA Journeyperson Program, until April 2, 2015. The program is modeled off a highly successful program piloted by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA). The program is designed to fill the education gap between being an apprentice and an independent farmer. The program provides the resources and opportunities for new farmers to develop their skills already established in farm-training programs and/or apprenticeships. The program is meant to be shaped by the interests and goals of each participant. All beginning farmers with less than 10 years experience are encouraged to apply.
CT NOFA is able to provide the accepted farmers with:
-
Educational and business planning stipends
-
An experienced farmer Mentor
-
FREE access to all CT NOFA workshops and Conferences
-
educational and networking opportunities
More information about the Journeyperson Program can be found at https://ctnofa.org/Beginning_Farmers.html. Farmers can begin the application process by filling out an application available HERE. The application deadline for CT NOFA’s Journey Person Application is April 2nd, with notification regarding the next step of the process occurring in shortly after.
