New Agrarians: Conference for Beginning Farmers in New Mexico
Don’t miss our special fundraiser on Tuesday, November 8, an evening with Bill McKibben and Bill deBuys. “Is It Getting Warmer Out There, or Is It Just Me? Land and Livelihoods in the Southwest.” Open to the public. You do not have to attend the conference to attend this fundraiser.
Wednesday and Thursday plenary sessions will feature a wide range of agrarians covering topics related to ranching, farming and conservation. Opening speaker, Deborah Madison has long been involved in the sustainable and local food movement, as a cookbook author, chef, teacher and community activist. She is on the board of the Seed Savers Exchange, has been involved with Slow Food for over a decade, and is presently co-director of the Monte del Sol Edible Kitchen Garden in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
