This is National Farm to School Month!

October is National Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate the connections happening all over the country between children and local food! The National Farm to School Network, along with countless partners, advocated for the creation of National Farm to School Month by Congress in 2010 (House Resolution 1655). Today, this annual celebrations brings together thousands of schools, early care and education sites, farms, businesses, communities and organizations from all 50 states, Washington D.C. and U.S. territories to recognize the importance of food education, school gardens and lunch trays filled with healthy, local ingredients.

Everyone can celebrate National Farm to School Month! Here are a few ways to get involved:

> Explore Resources: Download the National Farm to School Month Celebration Toolkit and check out other free resources for planning and promoting celebrations in your community, including customizable posters and bookmarks, stickers, activity suggestions and event planning tools.

> Find Local Events: Explore the national calendar of Farm to School Month events to see what celebrations are happening in your community.

> Take the Pledge: Add your name to the Take Action Pledge and pledge to get informed, be inspired and take action to advance farm to school in your community this October. Everyone who signs the pledge will be entered to win a package of farm to school prizes for a school of their choice!

> Be an Outreach Partner: Sign up your organization to be an official Outreach Partner of our National Farm to School Month campaign. Outreach Partners help spread the word about farm to school in October via their communications channels (social media, newsletters, blogs, etc.) – The National Farm to School Network provides a toolkit with sample messages and graphics to make it easy!
