Naked Acres Farm Job in Oregon
At Naked Acres Farm, all of our animals are raised in an outdoor, pasture-based natural environment. We are committed to raising animals humanely, and strongly believe that good meat comes from happy animals, which is one reason why we have been designated as an Animal Welfare Approved-farm. This status affirms that our animals are living humane, healthy, happy lives. The chickens range the farm eating bugs, dust bathing, foraging and brooding out chicks on their own. The goats, sheep, pigs and cows are rotationally grazed on more than 30 acres of pasture and wooded areas. We enjoy watching the barnyard entertainment every day!
The crops we grow are available at local farmers markets year round and our seasonal CSA. We often select heirloom varieties and those that perform well in the Pacific Northwest. We are a no-spray farm and have become Certified Naturally Grown.
Job Tasks may include, but are not limited to, vegetable production field work (seeding, transplanting, irrigation, hand cultivation, weeding, fertilizing, trellising, pruning, etc.), harvesting, washing and packing vegetables, soil prep, attending farmers markets, animal handling and care, building projects, food preservation, fence building/moving/repair, riparian restoration and more.
All Naked Acres Farm positions average 30-40 hours a week depending upon weather. Each person will have 2 consecutive days off of either Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday. We are located a few miles from the nearest bus lines so it is best if you have a car.
