More Money Available to Farmers Impacted by the Pandemic
This week, there is more money available to farmers for COVID relief as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has launched a second round of COVID-19 relief payments that will hopefully reach more farmers who were left out of previous aid programs. RMA Releases Updates to the Whole Farm Revenue Protection Program
Last month, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) approved new updates to the Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) program, a unique crop-neutral revenue insurance product available for diversified farming operations.
NSAC played an instrumental role in the establishment of the program, and continues to engage with Congress and the Risk Management Agency (RMA) by amplifying farmer concerns and comments, and offering recommendations on ways to expand and improve the program. $22.6 Million Awarded to Support Organic Farming, Research
The National Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA) recently announced over $20 million in research investments to support organic farmers as part of the Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative (OREI) and the Organic Transitions Program (ORG).
