Two-year farm apprentice at Living Hope Farm
Living Hope Farm is seeking an apprentice to work and learn with us for the next two years. Living Hope is a Certified Naturally Grown non-profit farm in Harleysville, PA, about 25 miles from Philadelphia. We produce a diversity of vegetables in the summer and winter, strawberries in the spring, and eggs and poultry year-round. We distribute food to the community through our CSA, farmers’ markets, and food pantries. We are looking for a dedicated student of farming who wants to take part in all aspects of our operation through the summer 2018, winter 2018-2019, and summer 2019 seasons.
This position will consist of full time work from the beginning of April through the end of October of 2018, part time work over the winter of 2018/2019, and a return to full time work from April through October 2019. During the summer seasons, the apprentice can expect to work around 50 hours per week. On-farm lodging is available.
We ask that applicants have either one full season of farm experience, or two partial seasons. In addition, we ask that applicants come with the full intention of staying for two years.
Pay: $10.00 / hour
Summer responsibilities will include:
- Seeding, transplanting, maintaining and harvesting crops
- Assisting with soil preparation and maintenance
- Washing and distributing produce
- Assisting in the care of livestock
- Interacting with customers and volunteers
Winter responsibilities will include:
- Crop maintenance, harvest, and distribution for the winter CSA
- Assisting in the care of livestock
- Observing and assisting with the planning process for 2019
To supplement on-the-job training, the apprentice will have the opportunity to take part in workshops at other farms in the area, and we will provide occasional classes on farm-related topics.
Full-season intern at Living Hope Farm
Living Hope Farm is seeking an intern to work and learn with us during the 2018 season. Living Hope is a non-profit, Certified Naturally Grown farm in Harleysville, PA, about 25 miles from Philadelphia. We produce a diversity of vegetables in the summer and winter, strawberries in the spring, and eggs and poultry year-round. We distribute food to the community through our CSA, farmers’ markets, and food pantries. We are looking for a beginning farmer with some prior growing experience and a strong desire to learn. The internship provides a chance to gain experience with all aspects of our operation during the summer season.
This position will consist of full time work (approximately 50 hours / week) from the beginning of April through the end of October of 2018. On-farm lodging is available.
Candidates must have some experience growing vegetables and a strong interest in farming.
Pay: $9.50 / hour

We produce a diversity of vegetables in the summer and winter, strawberries in the spring, and eggs and poultry year-round. We distribute food to the community through our CSA, farmers’ markets, and food pantries. We are looking for a beginning farmer with some prior growing experience and a strong desire to learn. The internship provides a chance to gain experience with all aspects of our operation during the peak summer season.
This position will consist of full time work (approximately 50 hours / week) for three months, beginning in May and ending in August. Exact start and end dates are negotiable. On-farm lodging is available.
