Job: Grower Program Manager, Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition
The GPM will work with the farm community to enhance grower training opportunities, to improve resource sharing and collaborative activities among farmers, and to continue to strengthen the network and resources available to CSA farmers in our region. Some weekend and evening hours required for meetings and events.
This position is guaranteed through December 2011 with the expectation of a permanent position at or above the advertised rate and hours pending future funding.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Program Management
- Organize and facilitate Grower Gatherings, Farmer Mentorship Program & Field Days
- Coordination of Grower Network to develop and maintain close communication with affiliated farms
- Collect, create, and organize web-based and print resources for use on website and in grower training sessions
- Collect and organize annual farm information for group promotion and publication
- Program Development
- Work with coalition growers to identify and build other grower training and resource sharing programs
- Cultivate relationships with local, regional, and national groups to develop new project initiatives to serve CSA growers
- Develop and implement projects with revenue generation potential to assist with long- term funding of Grower Programs
- Organizational & Administrative Duties
- Work with organization staff and Executive Director to build a strong, sustainable organization
- Manage Grower Program budget
- Assist with fundraising duties associated with Grower Program

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years professional work experience
- Excellent organizational communication skills
- Experience in and/or knowledge of Community Supported Agriculture
- Experience in community organizing and/or group facilitation
- Familiarity with vegetable producers and/or hands-on experience with diversified vegetable production and direct market, organic agriculture
- Above average competency in computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, web, email)
- Ability to work independently to set priorities, generate ideas, and facilitate programs
