Job: Farm Personnel & Post Harvest Manager, Golden Earthworm Organic Farm – LI, NY
Responsibilities: Supervise employees and direct post harvest activities; Foster productive, positive work environment for employees by setting pace, providing training and monitoring performance; Proactively develop solutions to problems, adjust protocol and retrain staff as needed; Implement and enforce food sanitation practices, workplace safety policies and procedures; Maintain compliance records as needed for organic certification, food safety, etc.; Maintenance of packinghouse equipment and/or scheduling of service; Oversee harvest/packinghouse supply inventory and procurement; Assist in maintaining personnel files; Handle minor injury claims with workers’ compensation plans; Facilitate compliance with all employment laws, OSHA, Workers’ Comp., and DOT regulations; Schedule maintenance of delivery trucks; Load trucks for CSA delivery & Farmers Markets; Organize grounds maintenance.
