The Hemp Farmer Job Opportunity
Oversee all cultivation activities of hemp farm 20+ acres including seeding, cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative spraying, harvesting, packaging, waste management and inventory
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of PH, PPM, and EC counts
- Interact with farm team on a daily basis providing guidance on pest management and nutrient regiment
- Maintain knowledge of growth characteristics, nutrients and environmental needs of genetics
- Manage the maintenance of the equipment developing quality control and sanitation procedures
- Ensure optimal compliance based on state agriculture regulations
- Maintain a positive work environment through collaborative communication
- Report issues in a timely manner
- Draft and update policy and procedures meeting regulatory and quality compliance for cultivation
- Identify and manage costs and future development and execution of additional farming infrastructure
- Other duties as needed
Experience
- 5+ years of commercial farming
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Ability to lead and manage a team on the farm
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to lift at minimum 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for prolonged period of times (including stooping, reaching climbing, etc.)
- Able to work weekends and overtime, as needed
- Must hold appropriate credentials to work within the United States
- Ability to live and work on-site
Additional Considerations for the Hemp Farmer Job:
All applicants will be required to undergo extensive background checks. COMMERCIAL FARMINING EXPEREINCE IS A MUST. Preference will be given to those with cannabis (hemp) farming experience.
Salary: $30,000 – $50,000 depending on experience, housing provided
