The Cornell Small Farms Program is pleased to be a cosponsor of Growing Health 2010 – Common Ground: Farms Food & Health. The event kicks off with a full day conference on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 8:30 AM at the Binghamton Regency Hotel and Conference Center in Binghamton, NY. The conference is immediately followed by an evening local food tasting from 5:30 – 9:00 PM.
Learn about the dynamic connections between food, farms, and health, and how these connections affect you. Growing Health 2010 offers something for everyone - educators, food service providers, public health advocates, community leaders, farmers, interested citizens, and anyone in between. Choose from 12 workshops in any of four diverse topic areas (“tracks”): Farm-to-School; Navigating to Local Food & Health; Food Sovereignty – “What is a Local Food Citizen?”; and Local Farms & Foods for Environmental, Economic, & Community Health.
Be inspired by 32 visionary leaders including Jerry Brunetti (Founder of Agri-Dynamics); NYS Commissioner of Health, Dr. Richard F. Daines; and Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets, Patrick Hooker.
