The New York Farm Viability Institute (NYFVI) is seeking proposals for its 2020 competitive grant program. Applications Open for Dairy Farmers of America 2020 Accelerator
Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) is beginning to recruit startups for its 2020 Accelerator program, which helps mentor and grow companies in the areas of ag technology and dairy food products. The Accelerator is a 90-day immersive program, with a combination of on-site meetings and virtual programs to provide training, growth opportunities and mentorship. American Farmland Trust Offering Funding Opportunities for Farmers: Farmer Microgrants
Farmer Microgrants of up to $2,500 are now available to support farmers in hiring professional advisor services to secure access to farmland, develop or implement farmland transfer plans or conserve their farms for agricultural use. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until available funds are expended. All services supported by the grant must be completed by December 31, 2019. Learn more and apply.

Small Grains Cost Share Funding Opportunity for Farmers
Practical Farmers of Iowa is inviting farmers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin to apply for cost-share on small grains harvested in 2020 and followed by a legume-containing cover crop. Eligible small grains include barley, oats, rye, triticale, or wheat. A legume cover crop could be under- or co-seeded clover or alfalfa, or a summer-planted cover that includes hairy vetch or field peas. The cost share provides $25/acre on a maximum of 100 acres per farmer for this combination of a main crop and cover crop on either conventional acres or those transitioning to organic. Learn More.

Western SARE Professional + Producer Grants
Western Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) is accepting proposals for its Professional + Producer Grants involving agricultural professionals and producers implementing projects to address identified needs in sustainable agriculture. Projects must integrate research and education, and outcomes should result in quantifiable benefits for producers, increase the preservation of the natural and social resources upon which agriculture relies, and be shared with other producers.
