Fiscal Sponsorship for Permaculture Projects
Fiscal Sponsorship for Permaculture Projects Based in the Northeast!
The Permaculture Association of the Northeast (PAN) seeks to help local, grassroots permaculture groups and practitioners be more effective.
Fiscal Sponsorship for Permaculture Projects provides individuals and organizations with the opportunity to apply for grant funding without 501c3 status. One of the services we offer is fiscal sponsorship so that tax-deductible donations and grants can be applied to your work.
PAN is a 501c3 organization that seeks to support the work of permaculturists and permaculture education in the Northeast Region. One of the services we offer is a Fiscal Sponsorship for Permaculture Projects Service by which an organization or entity that does not have 501c3 status itself (and is based in the United States), can apply for grants and donations “through” PAN. The donor or funder would make the tax-deductible gift to PAN and PAN would transfer the funds to the fiscally-sponsored project or program, withholding an administrative fee as outlined in #4 below.
If you agree to all of the following, you are eligible for the Fiscal Sponsorship for Permaculture Projects Service:
- The funds will be used in a way that is consistent with the educational mission of PAN (“To increase the resilience of the Northeast region by strengthening the regional permaculture network and increasing access to relevant education and resources.”)
- You are not planning to promote the availability of “scholarships” in the promotions and marketing of a project or program where these funds will be used. Running a scholarship fund invokes an additional set of legal and tax responsibilities. The funds can still be used to underwrite the costs of your educational programs. Contact us to discuss this if needed.
- You agree to pay a $25 application fee to PAN to help cover administrative costs.
- You agree to an administrative fee being retained by PAN out of the total funds passed through to your project. The fee will be a percentage of each funds payment received as follows: 10% of amounts $2000 or less, 7% of amounts over $2000 up to $10,000, and 5% of amounts over $10,000.
- You understand that PAN will disburse the funds to you or your organization to cover program or event costs; we do not disburse funds to individual participants or students. If funds are distributed to an individual or a sole proprietor representing the project, PAN is required to issue a 1099 to that individual or sole proprietor is the funds exceed $600 in a calendar year.
- You agree to submit a summary of how the funds were used to the PAN Treasurer by January 15 for any expenses incurred the previous calendar year.
- You are based in the United States and the funds will be spent in the United States.
- You are a member in good standing of PAN, join or renew via: PAN’s Membership Sign up Page
