NEW FARMER’S FOOTPRINT DOCUMENTARY SERIES ILLUSTRATES CRISIS OF CHEMICAL FARMING, POWER OF REGENERATIVE METHODS

Vimeo Staff Pick Aims to Restore Clean Food & Water for Ourselves, Our Children, Farmers & the Planet

The highly anticipated docu-series Farmer’s Footprint, from the grassroots regenerative agriculture movement Farmer’s Footprint, powered by Seraphic Group, has launched. The initial 20-minute film in the Farmer’s Footprint series was quickly named a Vimeo “Staff Pick,” an immediate popular recognition of the documentary series’ compelling, timely, and beautifully told story.

The series explores the cascade of harms resulting from chemical farming. Diving into the scientific findings of cancer researcher and physician Zach Bush, MD, and soil health expert and sixth-generation farmer Dr. Allen Williams, the series looks closely at the wide health impacts of glyphosate, the active ingredient in ubiquitous antibiotic and herbicide Round-Up.

Tapping both medical findings and real human stories, Farmer’s Footprint spotlights the dangers of chemically dependent agricultural practices while profiling a few of the intrepid farmers and ranchers who are forging a path away from chemical dependency toward a cleaner, healthier — and more profitable — regenerative style of agriculture that works with nature instead of against it.

Each short film in the Farmer’s Footprint series visits a farming family that is transitioning into a future of renewed food independence and economic viability through regenerative agriculture. The inaugural 20-minute film in the series, Farmer’s Footprint: The Beginning, currently online here, showcases the trials, learnings, and gratifying victories of the four-generation Breitkreutz family of Stoney Creek Farm in Redwood Falls, MN, as they navigate away from conventional practices to regenerative agriculture. Over decades of using conventional methods, the family had seen their soils degrade and their input costs rise each year. But just a few years of embracing regenerative practices has healed their land while cutting their costs.

The Farmer’s Footprint grassroots movement is targeting a goal of regenerating 5 million acres of U.S. farmland by 2025. This documentary series aims to inform, educate, and inspire consumers and farmers, food distributors and retailers — in fact, everyone who eats — about the dire consequences of chemical agriculture and the restorative power of regenerative farming.
