Farm Team Member Job at Wholesome Harvest Farm in Wisconsin – 2018

Length: We are looking for both long term and seasonal employees. Internships are possible and can be discussed if there is an interest.

Hours: Varies within year. During the peak of the season, June – October, the work day usually begins at 7am. Part-time and full-time positions are available.

Rate of Pay: Beginning wage between $9.00 and $12.00 depending on experience and knowledge and is subject to change.

About the Farm Team Member Job:

Wholesome Harvest is looking for energetic and hardworking individuals to join the WH crew. Individuals who understand the value of work, are reliable, willing to learn, and not afraid of getting their hands dirty are a good fit.  Tasks could include planting, weeding, washing, packing, sorting and harvesting.  For those interested in agriculture and vegetable farming, this position is a great way to learn the ins and outs of life on a farm and how to grow vegetables.
This position requires efficiency while working alone or with other team members.  An eye for high quality is a necessity.

Specific Responsibilities for the Farm Team Member Job could include:

Plant seeds.

Dig and plant, or transplant, seedlings by hand.

Participate in weeding, pruning, and care of the vegetable plants throughout their life cycle.

Harvest vegetables by hand using various methods and hand tools and deliver to be washed and stored.

Wash, inspect, prepare and store vegetables for use.

Inspect and pack vegetables for delivery.

Load vegetables for delivery to consumer.

Greenhouse care.

Animal care.

Other duties when assigned.

Essential Functions for the Farm Team Member Job:

• Ability for standing, kneeling, bending continuously throughout the day

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds throughout the day

• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions (i.e. raining, hot, cold, dry, wet, windy, etc.) outside.

Wholesome Harvest is a large family farm located in Southeastern Wisconsin. We offer a wide array of local, nutritious food options through our CSA program including certified organic produce and eggs plus pasture raised hogs and beef cattle. We farm over 100 acres of certified organic farm land and are passionate about delivering the highest quality produce and meat products to our customers.
