Farm Manager Job in Fort Ann, NY at LUPO ACRES

Manages a farm for future generations or manages the people on a farm.

We are looking for a Farmer/Farm Family with a passion for cultivating our poultry operation. Candidates should have an interest in learning and taking on operations as a business partner to move our Poultry Program into the future. The Poultry Farmer should have at least one season worth of prior experience managing and operating a poultry farm. You will be required to work independently and with the owners. We are looking for applicants with excellent communication skills, passion, resilience and great attention to detail in all aspects of this work.

We are currently in the process of refurbishing a large barn on our property, located in Ft. Ann NY. We have designs to create a facility where we will raise chickens year round, process our own birds and create an egg laying program. Housing will be included in this arrangement.

Our expectations for the Farm Manager Job include but are not limited to:
– Overseeing all logistics including bird ordering, processing, scheduling, deliveries, transportation, feeding and nutrition.

– Maintain the health of the flock

– Implementing best practices for the welfare of the flock

– Production record keeping

Location Specifics:
We own a farm in Ft. Ann, NY, with over 1,600 acres. We raise grass fed and finished cows, woodlot raised Tamworth & Mangalitsa pigs, and free range chickens seasonally. The farm is called LUPO Acres and we market our meat under Naturally Grass Fed. We are certified organic and have the highest AWA rating. On one side of our acreage we are 15 miles from the Vermont border, and on the other side you can see the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains.
