Farm Internship in New York – Owl Wood Farm is Seeking Interns for the 2020 Season in Salem
General Farm Description: Owl Wood Farm is a small diverse vegetable operation located in Salem, NY. We grow intensively with hand tools on about 1 acre and sell at four local farmers markets. We grow organically and strive for a harmonious relationship with nature through small scale biological agriculture. We specialize in cut greens and focus on being efficient. A river flows close to the fields and offers a great place to cool off on a hot day. We are only a short distance to kayaking and other activities on the Battenkill River and there is a lot of hiking and biking in the area as well.

Farm Internship in New York:
“We seek two interns to help us in the 2020 season from May to October, and the dates can be flexible. Tasks will include all aspects of organic vegetable farming including seeding, transplanting, bed preparation, weeding, harvesting, and washing. The intern will likely go to 1 market per week with one of us, so ideally, they would be good at quick math and enjoy talking with customers and sharing their love of great food. The intern will have 2 days off. Experience is helpful but we are willing to teach anyone eager to learn the skills required. Please send resumes, 2-3 references, and a brief description of why you want to work on our farm to owlwoodgrowers@gmail.com. Feel free to call Mark or Lindsay at 518-538-9467 with any questions and we look forward to hearing from you!”
Educational Opportunities: “Washington County has a very active farming community with lots of farms in the area to explore. We participate in several local networking groups that organize farm tours each summer. On our farm, interns will learn from hands on experience.
