USDA Stalwart in Plan to to Move ERS and NIFA Despite Mounting Opposition
It’s been over 60 days since the Administration shocked the research community with a proposal to relocate the headquarters of major federal research agencies ERS and NIFA out of the nation’s capital. NSAC along with many others in the food, farm, and research communities, are opposing the relocation and the lack of transparency in the decision-making process. With so much on the line for the future of food and agriculture in this country, NSAC will continue to urge Congress to provide the proper oversight to ensure that the integrity of America’s economic and agricultural research is upheld.
$7.5 Million in Farm to School to School Grant Funds Released in National Farm to School Month
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the opening of fiscal year (FY) 2019 Farm to School Grant Program request for applications (RFA). For the FY 2019 cycle, USDA will award upwards of $7.5 million in grants to eligible applicants; an increase of over $2 million compared to the previous funding cycle.
