Dirt! the movie tells the secret story of the stuff we stand stand on everyday. One teaspoon of dirt has billions of good critters that make life possible every day – through weather, from the trees and forests to every bit of food we eat. This funny yet serious movie shows you how the living dirt beneath us is doing and how we are all made of and connected to dirt. Based on the book by William Bryant, you’ll hear from top scientists to Riker Island criminals about the problems and the solutions to today’s dirty mess. After watching this movie, you’ll never look at dirt the same again. Are you ready to get DIRTy to make a difference?
DIRT MAKES FOOD
FoodCycles (https://foodcycles.org) is hosting a screening of DIRT! at Bloor Cinema (506 Bloor St W; map) on Thu, Jan 28, 2010 (6:30-8:30 PM). Dirt! the movie tells the amazing story of the earth we stand on everyday and how we depend on it for life. In addition, FoodCycles is fundraising for its education work. Tickets will be available online and at the door on a sliding scale of $10-20. There will be a reception at 6:30 PM and the movie will start at 7 PM and end at 8:30 PM. You can buy sprouts, vegetable earrings or memberships during the reception.
