2019 NASS Survey Finds Big Gains in Demand for Organic
Demand for organic continues to defy expectations as consumers recognize its many benefits. Organic agriculture saw a 31 percent increase in overall sales since 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) 2019 Organic Survey. The Organic Survey, conducted every five years, gathers information from certified or transitioning to certified organic farmers on production, marketing, and transitioning information pertaining to their organic operations. Deadline Extended: Policy Specialist in Conservation
The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) is seeking a passionate and collaborative policy advocate to
represent our Coalition’s conservation policy portfolio. This position will serve as our in house “expert” on agricultural conservation and environmental issues and legislation, with a specific focus on working lands conservation programs, climate change, renewable energy, and farmland protection programs. The Coservation Policy Specialist also collaborates with the rest of the policy team on shared campaigns and helps to further our racial equity efforts.
