CT Community Gardening Assn. 8th Annual Celebration of Community Gardening
The Connecticut Community Gardening Association (CCGA) will hold its 8th annual Celebration of Community Gardening this Saturday, September 19, at the Watkinson School, 180 Bloomfield Ave in Hartford from 8:30 to 3:30.
The keynote speaker will be Patricia Klindienst, author of the wonderful book, The Earth Knows My Name, about ethnic gardens and gardeners.
In addition there will be 18 workshops, including three by youth gardeners. Other topics include Backyard Bee Keeping, Community Garden Design, a roundtable on starting community gardens and Vegetable Gardening 101.
Community gardens are springing up all over Connecticut. This conference is a great way to connect with and learn from others involved in this important movement.
A wonderful lunch will be provided. The conference is very affordable at $20 per person including lunch, with a discount for members of CCGA.
