SpringRain Farm & Orchard is looking for a few amazing folks to join our small but mighty crew. We work together closely and are looking for collaborative people who like to work alone and on a team. While we are looking for people with a specific focus, everyone helps with everything, so anyone we hire will be expected to do it all—planting, weeding, harvesting vegetables, picking berries, caring for animals, helping build infrastructure, etc. We do not have much hierarchy—everyone pitches in together. Right now, we have John and Roxanne, the farmers and 1 other full time position and a part time person. We are looking to add 2-3 people for the 2019 season.
Our production model is very diversified and seasonally variable. We grow a wide variety of small fruits, orchard fruits, perennial vegetables, greenhouse crops, salad greens, and also produce eggs, chicken, rabbit, duck, and turkey. In addition, we produce value-added products such as dried herbs, jams and jellies, and various pestos. We farm on a human scale with most work done by hand or with implements at the right scale (e.g., paper pot puller, farmers friend harvester). For more information, go to springrainfarm.org
