AmeriCorps Position on Community Farm in East Tennessee

CAC Beardsley Community Farm seeks a motivated AmeriCorps member for a 10.5- month term. CAC Beardsley Community Farm is an urban non-profit community farm in Knoxville, TN that promotes food security and sustainable agriculture. Under the direction of the Farm Manager, Farm Assistant, and Green Thumb Director, this full-time service position will help tend to two-acres of productive cropland, and a two-acre orchard that includes fruit and nut trees, and berries. The service member will assist in all aspects of the urban community farm, including: cultivating vegetables and fruits, volunteer recruitment, developing and implementing educational programming for all ages, and event planning/fundraising. This is a full-time, paid position under AmeriCorps. Pay is $12,100, and includes health insurance and an education award of $5,550 at the end of service year (1,700 hours). Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and be 24 years or younger by the start of the AmeriCorps term. Anticipated start date is August 2015. We will be reviewing applications starting January 15th, and will be filling the position on a rolling basis.
