Advocacy & Organizing Director Position – Student Action with Farmworkers
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
o Knowledge of farm labor issues and commitment to social and economic justice
o Experience organizing students, farmworker youth, and/or farmworkers
o Experience with policy advocacy campaigns
o Experience with grassroots fundraising
o Experience coordinating events, trainings and/or conferences
o Experience with public speaking and popular education techniques
o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Bilingual (oral and written fluency in Spanish and English)
o Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
o Able to take initiative
o Able to juggle multiple tasks
o Flexible
o Willingness to travel and work some nights and weekends
o Experience working in agriculture and/or from a farmworker family (preferred)
o Computer skills on Macintosh
o Associate/Bachelor’s Degree
o Able to make at least a 2-3 year commitment
HOURS: 40 hours/week
SALARY & BENEFITS: $29,500 – $39,339 depending on experience, plus full health insurance (including dental & vision), 3 weeks vacation, personal leave, and holidays
