Palagummi Sainath is a journalist, editor, and photo-essayist whose primary focus is on rural affairs in India. Sainath was recipient of the 2006 Harry Chapin award for journalism , and the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication Arts.
Sainath reports extensively about issues that affect the rural Indians, and is an strong advocate for the majority of the country’s citizens who still make their living from the land.
