Find Farmland in Michigan – Michigan Farm Link Helps Aspiring Farmers Fulfill Their Dreams
MiFarmLink – Find Farmland in Michigan
Land access. Mentors. Resources. Capital. These are some of the primary needs that are common among beginning farmers. In Ottawa County in West Michigan, only 8% of farmers are under 35 years old and 30% are over the age of 65. The MiFarmLink Project, funded in part by the USDA, brings service providers together to collaboratively to address beginning farmer needs.
The Michigan Farm Link Project Proposes To:
- catalyze the completion of succession plans that protect land needed by beginning farmer;
- develop land acquisition resources that do not currently exist for the region;
- connect our farmers to the resources they need; and
- educate beginning farmers through mentor relationships with experienced farmers.

Farmland sellers and seekers
Ready to sell or lease your farmland? Most farmers would prefer to sell their land to another farmer, not a developer, and sometimes it takes a little help to connect with the right farmer-buyer and find farmland in Michigan. MiFarmLink is in the process of launching a land link function on their new website at www.mifarmlink.org, and is currently accepting new listings. Inviting others you know to list their land would be greatly appreciated!
The MiFarmLink Project is very excited to bring Jolene Brown to West Michigan! Jolene has been bringing positive, inspiring messages to the ag community for over 30 years. If you have read her column in Successful Farming, we are sure you will be excited to come see her live on November 10, 2021 at the beautiful Holland Fish and Game Club. Once Jolene has inspired attendees to get going on a transition plan and Farmhouse Deli has filled bellies with a delicious lunch, educational breakout sessions will begin! The day will wrap up with a networking happy hour where farmers from every phase of the business can explore potential business relationships, mentor relationships, and access business resources.
