Farm Business Partner Sought in WI
Farm Business Partner Wanted at Greater Lakes Farms in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin – 2020
Greater Lakes Farms is seeking a farm business partner starting for the 2020 season. We are located in northern Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, between the Villages of Francis Creek and Kellnersville where we currently grow a variety of pasture-based meats including chicken, turkey, pork and lamb. We are seeking a business partner to who would be interested in growing vegetables and starting a laying operation. We have existing markets of local customers and restaurants and are in the process of building a farm store / pick your own vegetable patch along the busy I-43 interstate between Green Bay and Milwaukee.
We are seeking someone interested in starting their own farm business that would work symbiotically with our farm. Our ideal candidate would be well organized and must be able to demonstrate that they are capable of operating their own farm business. Other preferred qualifications include experience in growing vegetables, customer service (i.e. working with customers), experience with simple booking keeping skills, and a positive attitude (even during the tough times – it’s farming, things go wrong on occasion 😊). Your farm business would need to meet our farm standards including pasture-based for any livestock and poultry and a variety of organic practices (we are not certified organic).
We will be providing land, potential access to the equipment we currently have, and certain infrastructure such as the farm store and fencing (permanent). In addition, we will mentor you during the development of your farm. We will also have opportunities to earn an hourly pay for chores on our farm business.
To apply for this farm business partner opportunity please email us at jbaeten@greaterlakesfarms.com a resume along with a cover letter that summaries why you want to operate your own farm business and why you would be successful.
