NE SARE Accepting Applications for Farmer Grants
NE SARE farmer funding and grant opportunities provide research funds for commercial farms to explore new ideas in almost any aspect of production, marketing and other topics that influence successful farming in the 12 Northeast states and D.C. Southern SARE On-Farm Research Grants
Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) is accepting proposals for On-Farm Research Grants intended for agricultural professionals who regularly work with farmers/ranchers. A maximum of $20,000 is available for projects up to two years in duration. Agriculture professionals in Cooperative Extension, Natural Resources Conservation Service, universities, NGOs, and government agencies are invited to apply. Applicants must work with at least one farmer/rancher on the project.
Applications are due by December 6, 2019.
 
USDA to Award Up to $10 Million in Farm to School Grants
These farmer funding and grant opportunities are to be used for training, supporting operations, planning, purchasing equipment, developing school gardens, developing partnerships, and implementing farm to school programs. Grants ranging in size from $20,000 to $100,000 are available. Learn more and apply by December 13, 2019.
 
Dairy Margin Coverage Program Applications Open Now
All dairy operations are eligible to apply for the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) Program, which is a voluntary program that provides dairy operations with risk management coverage that will pay producers when the difference (the margin) between the national price of milk and the average cost of feed falls below a certain level selected by the program participants. Learn more and enroll here December 13, 2019. 
 
Apply Now for New York Farm Viability Institute Grant
This grant supports projects with clear relevance to New York’s agriculture community, demonstrated producer support, and the ability to deliver farm-level economic impact over time. There is a particular interest in projects focused on new technologies, and soil-health management practices. Learn more and apply by November 12, 2019.
