The deadline to sign up for this summer sustainable farm and food program is March 31st. Send an email to Dr. John Mischler (jamischler@goshen.edu) with your interest, actual registration can take place after this date.  This experience can be taken as either a certificate (no college tuition needed) or for college-credit (college tuition required).

The Agroecology Summer Intensive (ASI) sustainable farm and food program is a residential program based at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center’s Rieth Village. This ten-week summer intensive is the keystone of the new major in Sustainable Food Systems and the agroecology minor, but is open to students of all majors and welcomes students from other colleges who can transfer earned credits to their home institutions.  Students move in May 28th and classes go from May 29th through August 3rd.  Applications are accepted for Summer 2018 through March 31st.

Our #3 nationally-ranked college farm is set within a 100-acre landscape that includes pastures, woods, prairie, wetland and a historic farmstead. Students in the Agroecology Summer Intensive gain experience with annual vegetables, fruit and nut orchards and livestock. One unique feature is a 5.5-acre Woody Perennial Polyculture mixed crop and animal system. The farm supplies food pantries, college dining services and a student CSA.
