Gardener, Sustainable Gardening Instructor, and Cabin Counselor Position Available at Pennsylvania Summer Camp

Camp Ballibay is seeking a gardener, sustainable gardening instructor, and Junior cabin counselor to join our Food Education program. Spend your summer in the mountains creating the edible garden of your dreams while teaching our campers the joy of planting and harvesting fresh, delicious produce. The Sustainable Gardening Instructor will interact with our Executive Chef, an expert in holistic food preparation and organic cooking. Our culinary team of creative cooks and bakers hail from around the globe and relish the idea of farm to table foodservice. The Sustainable Gardening Instructor will engage with our food ed instructors who specialize in teaching our campers the connection between the land and our plates through creative cooking instruction. Your garden will be an integral part of our foodservice and Food Education Program!

In the evening, you will be a co counselor of one of our cabins of campers, learning and sharing with some of the best and the brightest young artists and musicians. All of our cabin counselors are subject to a child care security clearance check, of course.

Camp Ballibay is a residential performing and fine arts camp for children 8-16 located on a beautiful 200-acre mountaintop campus in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Established 1964, Ballibay has been the #1 rated arts camp in North America on the CampRatingz website since 2011. In 2012 Ballibay’s foodservice was featured in the New York Times food and wine section.

Ballibay serves 21 scratch-cooked meals a week using locally-sourced, sustainably-produced ingredients to a community of 200 campers and staff. Our beautiful garden, steps from the camp kitchen, is an integral part of the foodservice, and many campers come to our garden daily to assist and learn.
