Leasing Land to a Farmer Workshops, Boston Area

Two workshops on leasing land to a farmer in the Boston area in October, 2012.  In Eastern Massachuestts, where development pressure is high, leasing your land to a farmer can be a rewarding way to support the local food movement. New Entry Sustainable Farming Project is partnering with two different agricultural commissions in the area (Concord and Topsfield) to put these workshops on for the community. Making land available for farming is essential for building local agriculture.  Having a farmer on your land can be rewarding for you, too.  These information sessions cover the basics: including finding and working with a farmer, information on leases, legal aspects, and community considerations.
