Salt Lake City Forum to Explore Local Importance of Federal Farm Bill – National “Food Day”, October 24th

Join the Salt Lake City Food Policy Task Force on October 24th as we celebrate national “Food Day” with a public forum on the Farm Bill. Come learn how the 2012 Farm Bill could help cultivate a more vibrant, sustainable and equitable food system that provides healthy food for all. The forum will bring together a range of experts who will explore how the Farm Bill impacts local food security, public health, and the ecological and economic sustainability of our regional food system. The forum will be hosted by the Salt Lake City Food Policy Task Force and will consist of a panel of regional experts, community leaders and policymakers, including: Ralph Becker, Mayor of Salt Lake City; Gina Cornia, Executive Director, Utahns Against Hunger; Dr. Douglas Jackson-Smith, Professor of Sociology, Utah State University; Patrice Isabella, Public Health Nutritionist, Utah Department of Health.

October 24th 2011, 7:00PM-8:30 PM at the Main auditorium, SLC Downtown Public Library, 210 E 400 St.

The event is free and open to the public. Please come early as seating is limited.
