Job: Organic Farm Crew Member, Illionis
Freedom Organix is a small, diversified CSA farm located in northern Illinois primarily serving the suburban Chicago market. We raise vegetables for our CSA shares along with free range layers, free range turkeys, pastured hogs, and grass fed beef. We have five acres in vegetable/herb/flower production and 15 acres of pasture for our livestock program.
We are seeking farm crew for the 2011 season. Requirements are good attitude, ability to work outside in all weather, ability to lift 50 lbs., and an interest in organic farming. You will participate in all phases of our vegetable CSA including greenhouse work, transplanting, trellising, weeding, harvesting, and packing our CSA boxes. Also care of our laying flock, turkeys and pastured hogs on an as needed basis. Experience not required. Shared housing available for the right candidate.
