Male unit counselor position for Farm Camp, CA:
Farm Camp offers a traditional summer camp experience on a real working farm. We work to create a fun and safe environment that encourages independence while nurturing lasting friendships. We are located on 500 lush acres of redwood trees, creeks, lakes, and rolling coastal foothills, 1.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. We are nestled in beautiful Sonoma County located in Northern California, providing many opportunities to explore and appreciate the land.
Campers and counselors play an integral role in caring for the animals and garden to help provide food for the camp, therefore bringing the freshest ingredients from the farm to the kitchen and ultimately, the table. We have an array of feathered and fuzzy creatures to care for on the farm including- Chickens, cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, puppies and kittens. Many of which will be babies that you will help raise, feed and provide care for over the duration of summer.
Since 1952, we have taught respect and love of nature. We minimize the impact we have on the earth, practicing and teaching environmental sustainability. Our program focuses on promoting a positive self-image, encouraging friendships and community, and practicing a healthy lifestyle.
We are looking for MALE counselors (as we have already filled all needed girls unit counselor positions) with an interest in sustainable agriculture, Farm, and animal care or if you simply have a desire to work with children, educating the next generation in one of the most beautiful settings on earth!

Farm or animal experience is desired but not required. We will teach you all of the things you will need to know to be a great counselor on the farm. As long as there is a desire to work with children and an interest in rural farm life, we can take it from there! We DO require you to be at least 19 years old with a year of college or work experience.
What we provide:
– Staff will live at camp. Food and housing will be provided for the duration of the summer- June 3rd – August 12th
– Transportation from SFO Airport on June 3rd if flying in.
Time Off:
– You will have 24 hours off per week – Example, Fri from 6pm – Sat 6pm. As well as activity periods off through the week and designated nights as well.
Compensation for Unit Counselor:
– You will have a weekly base salary of $350 which can be increased if you are a Wilderness First Responder or EMT, Lifeguard, College Graduate, Have 3 years + of teaching experience, Activity Certification or you apply to be in a Coordinator position.
Laundry is done once per week.
