Farm and Property Caretaker in Missouri at Wild Horse Creek Farms – 2017

Wild Horse Creek Farms, based in West St. Louis County Missouri, is seeking a full-time (hours 7:30 – 4:00 M-F) farm and property caretaker.  We raise Longhorn Cattle and Clydesdale Horses and we are looking for an experienced, stable, and long-term fit to assist with not only the care and maintenance of the cattle and horses, but also a high level maintenance of the grounds and property.  

We are looking for an experienced, reputable, hard-working, loyal, dedicated, careful, conscientious person to work on our farm as well as assist in some commercial property maintenance.
There are potentially some weekend hours from time to time, but not often.
We are looking for someone who has excellent previous employment history and sees this as a stable career track.

Important skills necessary that a candidate for the Farm and Property Caretaker in Missouri should have experience in:
Mowing
Trimming
Tree trimming
Use of a chainsaw
Ability to drive a tractor
Use of a log-splitter
Power sprayer
Familiarity with livestock would be helpful.
Painting and cut in lines when painting.
Maintenance of wood fencing.
Use of hand saw
Ability to effectively use small hand tools.
Ability to maintain gas powered equipment.
Safety conscious
Planting of trees, bushes, flowers
Trimming of small shrubs and plants
Mulching and cutting in planting beds
Maintenance of flower and plant beds
Fertilization of grass and plants
Maintenance of irrigation system

The majority of the position will be outside and thus willingness and desire to work in all weather conditions is a must. The long-term stability of this position is excellent. Thus, we are looking for a top flight candidate who has the desire and willingness to not see this as a job, but a career whereby they will be motivated and focused each and every day doing the best job they possibly can.
