Job Description
Terravine Growers, SPC is looking for an intern April through October 2016 to help with the hands-on, small farm production with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail. Their primary duty and responsibility will consist of helping with the operations of our greenhouse facilities and outside garden/field production areas, along with the implementation of a new CSA program starting in June.
Expectations
Our Farm Interns will learn how to plant, cultivate and harvest on the farm. They will also learn how to run a small greenhouse operation and hydroponic techniques. They will learn about sustainable farming practices that include preserving and increasing soil health, companion planting, greenhouse growing and harvesting. The intern will also have an opportunity to learn all the business aspects of farming if desired. Were looking for a person who is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and is energized by building relationships with people of all abilities. This internship requires the ability to communicate with others, flexibility in job responsibilities, team player, creativeness and a fun attitude. They will be working closely with both the Trellis Farm Manager and the Program Coordinator.
Compensation
Private housing w/all utilities included during internship; 40hr/week M-F; will work with intern’s schedule, $300/month stipend.
