Community Farm Jobs: Equinox Community Farm is looking for 4 employees for the 2016 season, including for their pack shed and farmer’s market manager positions.  All employees will be involved in all aspects of the farm’s production including greenhouse production, transplanting & seeding, weeding, harvesting, washing & packing, and working at the farmer’s market.  Employees will work closely with the farmer and farm manager and will have ample opportunities to get an in-depth look at the farming process and ask questions of the farmer and manager.

Prior gardening/farming experience is preferred but not essential. Applicants must show a strong interest in and enthusiasm for local, sustainable agriculture, a positive attitude a strong work ethic, ability to do physically demanding work, and ability to work well alone and with others.

Employees should expect to work five days a week, likely including at least every other weekend.  Their farmer’s market is Sunday morning and employees will be expected to help with Saturday market harvest and Sunday market. Employees working weekends will be able to take two other days off that week.

Compensation will be $8.50-$12.00 per hour depending on experience and assigned responsibility.  They do not have on-farm housing available.
